About us
Stal Amstelhof, over 40 years of loving and caring!
August 29, 1966. Klaas Eveleens celebrates his birthday and gets the greatest present of his life: a real multi coloured mare foal with a distinctive name: Bobinette van Aalsmeer (v. Jaap van de Meer). This foal came from the stable of the neighbours of the family Eveleens in Aalsmeer. Where Klaas has developed his love for ponies and until today that hasn't changed. It even spreaded in the family, to daughters Yvette en Michelle, who work hard both to get successfull with Stal Amstelhof. And it is, already!
When the Eveleens family went to the first examination in the early sixties, they expected Bobinette to end higher then actually happened. So that was a dissapointment for them all. Nevertheless this was an experience that motivated them all and soon after that a second pony was bought for the next examinations that would come.
This time, it was Benita van de Geuzenbuurt (v. Spear of Marshwood) and soon it seamed that it was the beginning of the today successfull breedery. In 1972 Benita became the champion of the province of North Holland. Also she got a first premium of the pedigree, which was a push for us to focus more on history and breeding.
The first stables that imported ponies from England were Stal Rodichem and the Jacob Jan Bakker family from Venhuizen and they did so at the Marshwood breedery. Through the years we have been able to buy several mares via mister Vaesens from Neer (L). And between them were several great ones like: Persella of Netherley, Julie of Marshwood, Winwick and Transystud merries.
In 1978, a very special mare foal became champion in Baarlo. It was the mother of every horse in the current Stal Amstelhof and her name was Orchidee van Spuitjesdom. Daughter of Rosengo of Transy and Sweetheart of Marshwood and now, posthumously, she has been declared super premium. She also is multiple stallionmother of Signeur van de Amstelhof, Excellent van de Amstelhof, Zeger van de Amstelhof and mother of premium mares Adelheid van de Amstelhof, Viola van de Amstelhof, Fleur van de Amstelhof and Tessa van de Amstelhof and she is responsible for the line Adelheid-Ivette-Rhapsody!
Besides a good motherline also a good father is very important. That's why Rosson of Transy (v. Pericles of Netherley) was bought in 1981. He proved to be a golden combination with Orchidee van Spuitjesdom!
We strive to use the famous bloodlines of Marshwood and Transy to develop our products at Stal Amstelhof.
