Our objectives
I have always liked the famous pony breeding herd of the family Cox, the famous Marshwood breeding herd.
In the past years I've read a lot about them and my goals is to use the same perspective on our work in Stal Amstelhof.
Our objective is breeding a Shetland pony that is of standard quality at least but differs from others by combining image and movement using the so called golden wire. By this, our ponies distinct from the rest by a more luxury appearance. Well, at least that's our goal.
Also we think that our ponies should distinct from others not only on the shows that we attend but also on a normal day in the open air, on our land. Where you can see their remarkable details in all kinds of weather.
The start of our breeding herd goes back in time to our parent strain Orchidee van Spuitjesdom which was a daughter of the famous Sweetheart of Marshwood. This mare was already older when she came to Holland. But besides giving us Orchidee she has also given us our great stallion Tyfoon van de Kozakkenhoeve.
By buying a few daughters of No Fear van de Römer we have given ourselves a more steady base and by that, increasing the opportunities to excel. Breeding means that you have to be able to make selections and for that you simply need mother animals to give you the right chances and get the results that you want.
In the coming years we hope to be able to show you that the beautiful results of our work and efforts are not incidentally and that we can show you more than a few excellent products. Our goal is to reach the Marshwood stud level soon!
