Bella Donna, born april 23rd, 2008!
It is always special, the birth of a foal. Today, it's the first mare foal at Stal Amstelhof this year.
Early this morning I rode Pasteur and I saw Prima Donna standing apart from her group. A little exciting, with only three weeks to go to the date that giving birth for her was planned. Around eleven I was changing to go to the Uithof and then I saw it from the window in my room: there was a big white ball at the and of the mare! Superfast I changed clothes again for old ones and quickly I put her into the stable. I think she was very happy that she didn't have to give birth in the meadow, while other mares are looking at her.
Once inside everything went very quick and it seamed an easy job for Prima Donna. And yes, for the third time in years it was a mare foal. After Xtra Donna, Aparta Donna, now Bella Donna has been born!
The next one is expected for may 2009, so we'll have to wait a little now...
