Almnas Mahogny

Height: 0.98 m
Date of birth: 18-07-2001
Bred by: mr. Jeppson, Sweden
In october 2007 we went to Sweden, to bring Mathilda (van de Römer) and Zimone (van de Amstelhof) to their new owners. Being in the neighbourhood, we visited the family Jeppsson in Vellinge. After we saw all the mares, we went to another area of the premises, where Jolly Roger of Marshwood was walking around.
But our attention did not go to this known stallion but to the black stallion in the area across. What kind of stallion was this then?
Almnas Mahogny was born in 2001 at mr. Jeppsson, from Dutch parents. Our own bred mare Fleur is his mother. This mare, which comes from the successful combination Rosson of Transy x Orchidee van Spuitjesdom, ended up in Sweden after many traveling through Europe. The father of Mahogny is the prime Edmund van de Brouwerij who has a life long approval as well.
Mahogny however is not yet completely approved in Sweden, because a stallion in Sweden has to do a drivetest as well apart from the exterior examination. The latter resulted in 42 points, with a 10 for type.
At the end of october, Mahogny came to Holland, and he was prepared for the Stallion Examination by the family Nijhof. And on december 7th, after only 6 weeks here, the day was there. We were very happy with our stallion, but would the jury feel the same way? After a breathtaking day, finally Mahogny was approved by the NSPS. And on the examinations in january 2008, Mahogny became first for the new year middle size.
Because he was bred outside of Holland and older than 3 years he was not allowed to participate in the election of the best of the new year.
From april 2008, Mahogny started his first breeding season. 18 of the 19 mares have been proved pregnant!
We are very anxiousto see the results after his first year.
